Is pie the new cupcake?

For my husband's birthday in January, he mentioned he wanted pie. I did a search for pies in Seattle and High 5 Pie came up on Capitol Hill. I love their site and the concept. They have Cutie Pies which are mini pies, Flipsides which are pie pockets and even Pie Pops which are-you guessed it-pies on a stick. In this week's Seattle Weekly there is an article about High 5 that doesn't speak very highly of it. I didn't actually taste any of their pies since I'm gluten and dairy free (although I think they offer those), but no one who got them in the office complained. I hope they do well because their pies are so darn cute. The staff is really nice and they have great branding. Another pie place in town I need to check out is simply, Pie in Fremont. Although I love pie, I think I'll always have a thing for cupcakes. Happy pie tasting!
